Sitka Food Coalition

The most recent Sitka Community Food Assessment has indicated that Sitka’s food insecurity has increased in key areas over the ten years between 2014 and 2024. Sitka Food Summit 2024

Community members explored the results of the 2023 Sitka Community Food Security Survey on April 22, 2024 (Earth Day) at Harrigan Centennial Hall.

The first community food assessment was conducted in 2013 and the 2023 Sitka Community Food Assessment updated its findings. Participants discussed the results and provided feedback that shaped the final report.

What would happen if barges suppling food stopped running? How are Sitkans coping with rising food costs? Does our community have the capacity to feed itself if a disaster left us isolated?
